The Discovery Place Conservation Area at Gilmore & Sanderson Way is 1.7 km walk through an urban deciduous forest with unique grasses and wildflowers. Burnaby Hospital in the neighbourhood is one of the largest hospitals outside the City of Vancouver and a 314 bed primary and secondary patient care facility. The Gilmore Station on the Millennium Line offers quick rapid transit to downtown Vancouver, while the Lougheed Highway and Highway 1 mean easy vehicle access to other parts of the Lower Mainland.
