Events in Hong Kong may trigger return of expats

An estimated 300,000 Canadian citizens live and work in Hong Kong, where violent protests have sparked speculation BC may see a mass return of expats.

“That is going to have a dramatic impact not just on property prices but on BC infrastructure, schools, hospitals — everything,” says Vancouver immigration lawyer Richard Kurland. “People may be motivated to ensure safe passage for their families and their capital.”
