Douglas College expands on these excellent educational services with the 4,000-student David Lam Campus at Coquitlam Centre. Coquitlam is an outdoor recreational paradise bordered to the north by mountains and hosting many city, regional and provincial parks. Sports facilities are abundant at locations such as Town Centre Park and Poirier Sport & Leisure Complex. Coquitlam’s Mundy Park is one of the largest city parks in the region and the Riverview Lands in Coquitlam are part of the Community Heritage Registry, including one of the best collections of trees in Canada. An energetic city with active residents, Coquitlam is regarded as an events destination, hosting over 100 events each year.
